Big Train and Braves split doubleheader

The Big Train were lead offensively by RF Ryan Collins from Mississippi State who had 3 hits and 2 runs. Mason Morioka also had a pair of RBIs. Jarrod Parks got his 2nd double of the season and 2nd in two games. Joe Mantiply pitched 4 innings and allowed 3 hits and a run. Hugh Adams pitched 2 perfect innings for the Big Train and Blair Dillon struggled on the mound allowing 3 hits and 2 runs in 1 inning. The Big Train won game 1 7-3.

Jimmy Reid got the loss in game 2 of the doubleheader allowing 6 runs in 1 inning of work. The Braves scored 5 runs in the seventh and Derrick Brewer closed the game out for the Braves. The Braves will remain at .500 (11-11) and play the struggling T-Bolts tomorrow at Blair Stadium. Connor Bernatz had 3 RBIs and a pair of hits in game 2 and Markus Melgosa drew 3 walks. Austin Harclerode hit his team leading 6th double on the season. Cody Freeman also got a double in the 8-6 loss. Thanks to Markus Melgosa's dad for giving me a Bethesda Big Train T-Shirt.
